About the Chancellery
The Chancellery of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic (hereinafter referred to as “the Chancellery”) was established by Act No. 423/2020 on Amendments and Additions to Certain Acts in Connection with the Reform of the Judiciary with effect from 1 January 2021. The Chancellery is a state budget organisation managed and acted on its behalf by the Head of the Chancellery of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic. The total number of employees of the Chancellery is 70, of which 58 are civil servants and 12 are public employees.
The Chancellor performs tasks related to the professional, organisational, personnel, economic, administrative, and technical support of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic pursuant to Act No. 757/2004 on Courts and on Amendments and Additions to Certain Acts, as amended, or special regulations.
In relation to the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic, the Chancellor shall, in particular, ensure the performance of the following activities:
- management of appropriations as a separate budget chapter,
- carrying out (basic) financial control,
- keeping the accounts,
- public procurement,
- providing material equipment,
- ensuring the management of state property,
- ensuring the establishment and use of the Social Fund and concluding collective agreements,
- carrying out internal audit,
- ensuring health and safety at work, occupational health services and fire protection,
- ensuring civil protection of the population,
- ensuring the protection of classified information,
- ensuring the protection of personal data,
- ensuring information security,
- procurement, deployment and use of information systems and technologies,
- providing library and information services, acquiring, processing, preserving, protecting, and decommissioning of library collections,
- ensuring the operation of archives and registers,
- ensuring proper staffing and handling of personnel matters,
- ensuring the training of judges and staff carrying out judicial tasks,
- being responsible for the efficient use of human and financial resources,
- supervising the judicial departments,
- ensuring the use of the national language in accordance with a specific regulation,
- ensuring that information on activities is made available to other public authorities and to the public,
- being responsible for the timely publication of judicial decisions,
- ensuring the drafting of internal legislation,
- handles complaints and suggestions from natural persons and legal entities.
Details of the organisation and activities of the Chancellery, the status of civil servants and employees in the performance of work in the public interest shall be regulated by the Rules of Organisation by the Chancellor.
